Sunburst Solid Laundry Detergents Awarded Multiple Patents

MINNEAPOLIS, MN – Sunburst Chemicals COMPASS and Prizm SOLID laundry detergents were recently awarded U.S. Patents 6,395,703B2 and 6,395,702B2. The patents cover product composition, method of manufacture and method of use.

Developed in partnership with the EPA's "Design for the Environment" Program, COMPASS is a one-shot system of highly active enzymes, oxygen bleach, and special surfactants that combine to clean tough stains by breaking apart soils. COMPASS is 100% biodegradable, washes in cold or warm water, and typically requires no additional chemicals in the washing process.

Prizm is a unique blend of enzymes and oxygen bleach that penetrates beyond the surface to pull stains from fabric during the wash process. Prizm replaces up to four standard chemicals resulting in reduced formula times for energy, water and labor savings.
