Are you using a hygiene product that is actually causing more harm than good?
Many cosmetic items that we all use on a daily basis contain the harmful ingredient Triclosan including toothpastes, cosmetics, antibacterial soaps and body washes. Triclosan is an antibacterial and anti-fungal agent found in many consumer products. Triclosan has been incorporated in consumer products for over 30 years, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Approximately 2,000 individual products contain such chemicals, health officials said.
Minnesota’s Governor Mark Dayton recently signed a bill legalizing a measure banning Triclosan-containing products in the state. Minnesota will act as the FIRST state to ban the use of this product! The law will go into effect January 1, 2017. The main focus is on antibacterial hand soap and body wash, as the bulk of products that contain Triclosan.
Take a look at the article Healthy Schools Campaign put out regarding the dangers and uses of Triclosan, particularly in schools.
